
Rideau Lakes council is asking IDEA Consulting if they can modify the 99% drawings of the Chantry municipal office retrofit to see how much a build at a new location would cost.
They’ll also have the Working Group established around the retrofit work with IDEA on the modifications, a sticking point for Councillor Marcia Maxwell.
For a brief moment in the discussion, Deputy Mayor Deborah Hutchings debated putting a motion forward to defer this matter until after the next general election, taking aim at Mayor Arie Hoogenboom.
Councillor Jeff Banks made a point surrounding election dates.
Banks is referring to the ongoing by-election which’ll fill the South Crosby ward seat left vacant following Joan Delaney’s resignation.

Hutchings did not make the motion in the end and the vote to have the drawings modified was pushed through.
