The funding formula for Ontario public health units is being reviewed.
If it’s adjusted, it’ll be the second significant change in a short time for the South East Health Unit, which wrapped up its merger earlier this year as Board Member Richard Kidd points out.
Kidd said the SEHU is already undergoing a financial review as they’re on track for a deficit about five years from now.
Municipalities are responsible for 100% of health unit funding, but the province currently covers 75% of it through an annual grant.
