Lanark County council will soon allocate $2.13 million for 78 additional spaces in Mississippi Mills new child care centre.
The money’s coming from a federal program, and is an addition to the $700,000 the province provided as start up funds in January.
A combination of collective politics, says Councillor Peter McKenna.
Community Services Chair and Mississippi Mills Deputy Mayor Rickey Minnille thanked the horseshoe for its support.
The new centre will offer 151 spaces, be municipally owned and replace the existing centre on State Street.
The funding is expected to be approve at the next county council meeting.
