
At its June 17 board meeting, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) celebrated several outstanding students with Certificates of Appreciation for their remarkable achievements.
From St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Smiths Falls, an all-boys hip hop group made up of Connor Morrison, Connor Macpherson, Xavier Vandusen, Austin Dubeau, and Liam Morrison was recognized for placing second at the National Dance Finals in Niagara Falls.
Their team, from Flare Dance Studio, has earned high gold and platinum awards across Ontario.
In Perth, St. John Catholic High School’s Oliver Allatt was honoured for leading the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union U16 team to a championship win at the Tropical 7’s in Tampa Bay. He has now earned a spot on the U17 team set to compete in Calgary this summer.
And Haylea Maitland of St. Joseph Catholic School in Toldeo was recognized for her top placements at the Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic with her calf “Delcreek Fatally Famous” at the Royal Winter Fair.
