Hydro One customers in parts of Lanark County and surrounding areas will now experience a planned outage early Friday morning, June 27, after last weekend’s scheduled maintenance was postponed due to severe weather.
Thunderstorms late Saturday knocked out power to thousands across the region, forcing Hydro One crews to shift their focus to emergency restoration instead of scheduled upgrades.
The affected zone includes areas in and around Drummond, Carleton Place, Lanark-Highlands, Perth, and several other rural townships.
The rescheduled outage will now take place on Friday (June 27) from 12:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., impacting approximately 4,285 customers.
The work is necessary to install new hydro equipment and improve long-term service reliability.
Impacted customers have already been contacted by Hydro One.
The utility is also reminding the public to always stay far away from downed power lines and equipment.
Never assume any wire is safe to touch—even if it looks inactive.
