The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, between McQuaid Road and Silver Lake Provincial Park. Police say a car collided with a coach bus carrying over 30 passengers.
The 29-year-old driver of the car, from Kitchener, died at the scene. The bus driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Emergency crews from Central Frontenac Fire and Rescue, Frontenac/Lanark County Paramedics, and the Ministry of Transportation responded, along with OPP crash investigators.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police are asking anyone with dash cam video or information to contact Frontenac OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or share tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
The highway was closed for several hours during the investigation.
