
Canada Day is Tomorrow, July 1, and there’s no shortage of family-friendly events across Lanark County and beyond to help celebrate Canada’s 156th birthday.
Perth will host its Canada Day festivities at Conlon Farm Recreation Complex, starting at 3 p.m. Activities include an OPP canine unit demo, a magic show, face painting, a bicycle parade, live music and fireworks to end the night.
Smiths Falls is celebrating from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Lower Reach Park with a bike parade, family fun zone, food vendors, live music and fireworks.
Carleton Place kicks off at 1 p.m. in Riverside Park, offering cake, live music, buskers, inflatable fun and fireworks at 10 p.m.
In Lanark, festivities begin at 7 a.m. at Clyde Memorial Ball Park, with a full slate of activities including yoga, kids’ games, a maple syrup drinking contest and fireworks. Other events will be held at the Lanark & District Museum, the Legion and the Night Market.
Beckwith hosts its celebration from 8 a.m. to noon at Brunton Community Hall, featuring a seniors buffet breakfast and a live hootenanny show.
Merrickville will celebrate at Blockhouse Park starting at 10 a.m., with a parade, cake cutting, BBQ and live music.
Kemptville will hold a full day of fun from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Riverside Park, including bouncy castles, food trucks, a free swim and fireworks.
Toledo is hosting a complimentary BBQ from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Legion.
Almonte will celebrate starting at 3:30 p.m. in Gemmill Park with crafts, live music and fireworks.
Pakenham starts the day with pancakes at 10 a.m. at the fire hall.
South Elmsley offers its pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at South Elmsley Hall.
