A 28-year-old Lanark Highlands Township resident is facing impaired driving charges after a single-vehicle crash on MacDonalds Corners Road.
Just after 11 p.m. on June 23, 2025, officers from the Lanark County OPP responded to a report of a car in a ditch. When they arrived, they found the vehicle and arrested the driver at the scene.
The individual was then taken to the OPP detachment in Perth for further testing.
As a result, Devon McGovern has been charged with two impaired driving offences related to alcohol. The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 14.
McGovern’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The OPP continues to remind the public about the dangers and legal consequences of driving while impaired.
