Mississippi Mills Recreation Manager Calvin Murphy has come up with a unique way to provide greater accessibility to local hockey while earning funds for the Municipality. He proposed to Council’s committee that they enter into an agreement with Livebarn, the leading provider of live and on-demand streaming for amateur sports.
Calvin explained how it would work.
He noted in his report that the cameras would be installed in the John Levi Community Center and the Stewart Community Center in Pakenham and would only focus on play on the ice.
Calvin reported that Livebarn has entered into an agreement with a regional hockey organization to boost coverage.
He explained the financial implications for the municipality.
Livebarn will pay for cameras, installation and maintenance and any revenues generated will be earmarked for future recreation facility improvements.
