Smiths Falls is continuing towards connecting its existing trails over the next five years.
A recent status report highlighted a rough project timeline, and further discussion was had about establishing a permanent trailhead.
A project Director of Community Services Stephanie Clark sees as its own, and not a quick one.
Mayor Shawn Pankow says there’s a lot council and staff need to consider when making decisions.
Connecting the trails is a lot of work with multiple variables, but would emphasize how pedestrian friendly the town already is, says Clark.
The plan would also include various improvements to the towns trails over a five year period for about $1.285 million with plans to apply for federal and provincial grants.
