
A 31-year-old man is facing serious charges after Lanark County OPP responded to a weapons complaint in Perth early last Sunday morning.
On July 6, 2025, just after 3:00 a.m., officers were called to a residence and found a man with an axe. Following an investigation, police arrested the man and laid four charges: assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unlawfully being in a dwelling.
The accused was held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 7.
To protect the identity of the victim, police have not released the accused’s name.
