Cornerstone Landing Youth Services is trucking along after missing out on a federal grant they relied on for the past six years.
Chair Terrilee Kelford said they laid off two staff members but have since secured a $70,000 grant, though concerns persist with no long-term funding streams.
They’re looking to hire two part-time positions with funding they have received.
Cornerstone aids homeless youth aged 16 to 24 through a variety of programs.
Kelford said they’ve paused one program since the layoffs.
Kelford said they’re regularly applying to other grants but with the money being guaranteed for only one year, it’s tough to rely on.
We’ll hear more from Kelford later this week.
