Lanark County and the Town of Smiths Falls are asking the public to help shape the future of rural transit.
They’ve launched the second round of consultation for the Rural Transit Feasibility Study. Led by Arcadis, the study looks at current transportation issues and possible solutions to improve mobility in rural areas.
New transit scenarios have been created based on earlier feedback, and the public is invited to review the options and share their thoughts.
Drop-in sessions will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Perth Library (12:30–2:30 p.m.) and Almonte Library (4:00–6:00 p.m.).
On Wednesday, August 13, residents can visit Smiths Falls Town Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Attendees can ask questions and give feedback directly to the project team.
Comments are also welcome online at Transit – Lanark until August 29.
Public input will help decide what transit looks like in the future.
