A great new attraction is coming very soon to Smiths Falls that promises to keep families entertained.
It’s called Dad’s Arcade and Owner Pat Maloney tells us he wanted to create something that kids like his own could do in town.
Dad’s Arcade, named so because that’s what they called it around his home as the idea was coming to fruition, features classic arcade game cabinets and pinball machines.
It promises to be a real throwback for those who remember going to local hangouts to play the now historic titles like Pac Man, Donkey Kong, and Centipede. Maloney says its a one of a kind feeling.
The arcade is right next to Bowie’s, which Maloney also owns, on Russell St. E. He says he also took advantage of a town program to turn the space into a prime attraction.
Maloney says don’t worry about quarters, they’ve figured out a way to maximize your game, while keeping it family-friendly when it comes to the bottom line.
He says they’ve done their best to provide an authentic experience too, with some great machines that are near and dear to his heart.
That one’s complete with scratched in names and initials on the side of the wooden cabinet, adding to the historical feel of the machine.
Dad’s Arcade hopes to open any day now. You can keep tabs on their progress on their Facebook Page found here.
