A 58-year-old man is facing charges after a foot chase in Smiths Falls.
On July 23, 2025, police stopped a vehicle during a proactive patrol. Officers say the passenger ran from the traffic stop but was quickly arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Police later charged Guy Cote, 58, with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and obstruction of a peace officer.
The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
The incident remains under investigation.
Smiths Falls Police have not said what type of drug was involved.
