At the return to business after a July break, Perth council held a public meeting to review a zoning change request for 2000 Rogers Road.
The proposal would turn the existing industrial class building into a business park model, dubbed “Unity Square,” for multiple commercial tenants without expanding the facility.
Town Planner Joanna Bowes noted that the applicant was planning to sell the building after renovations.
Responding to concerns raised by residents in an adjacent neighbourhood about an uncertain future of the property, Joanna reminded everyone of the rules of the Planning Act.
One nearby resident Stacy Hogan expressed concern that a future owner of the property might expand and remove landscape features that currently shield the abutting residences from noise.
The report was received as information along with all verbal comments given at the meeting. It will appear on a future committee meeting agenda for discussion.
