Lanark County OPP have charged a Mississippi Mills resident with impaired driving after a Highway 7 traffic stop in Carleton Place.
Police say officers pulled the vehicle over just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, after receiving a complaint about a possible impaired driver.
The driver, 58-year-old Tarmara Chambers, was arrested and taken to the OPP detachment for testing.
She is charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), operation while impaired – alcohol, and driving with an open container of alcohol.
Chambers was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025.
Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police remind motorists that impaired driving is a criminal offence and poses serious risks to everyone on the road.
