A construction worker has died after being struck by a tractor trailer at a job site east of Merrickville.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened just after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on Wolford Drive, near Burritts Rapids Road.
The 61-year-old victim was reportedly working on the site when the incident occurred. Emergency crews responded quickly, but the worker was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The tractor trailer involved was part of the construction project, police said.
Investigators remain at the scene, and no further details are being released at this time.
OPP are urging motorists to avoid the area while their work continues.
Drivers are reminded to always slow down in construction zones where fines are doubled.
