A unique collaboration of emergency services is hosting another Lanark Female First Responders Camp this fall.
It’s a two-day immersive experience designed to empower young women with real-life emergency skills, mentorship, and career exploration.
Lanark County OPP Staff Sergeant Katie Magill tells us what it’s all about.
The Camp, which is provided at no cost to participants will run Friday October 17th, 6 – 9pm and Saturday October 18th, 9am – 5pm at the Perth Fire Services at 1881 Rogers Road in Perth. Unlike it’s first edition held 4 years ago, which only involved the Fire Service, this Camp covers the gamut of emergency services as Lanark County Paramedic Service Commander Amanda Taylor explains.
The Camp starts on Friday evening with an orientation, protective gear fitting, and a police dog demonstration. Saturday is a full day packed with plenty of training and activities according to Amanda.
The Camp offers a unique opportunity to explore rewarding careers in emergency services and quickly fills its limited spots. Registration is open now and continues to August 31st. Online applications can be found at perth.ca/LCFFRC.
