The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following an intimate partner violence (IPV) investigation.
Officers launched the investigation on Monday, August 25, 2025, gathering statements about incidents that allegedly occurred between December 31, 2023, and August 17, 2025.
A 33-year-old man from Tay Valley Township has been charged with the following offences:
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Two additional counts of assault
- Uttering threats
- Assault with a weapon
- Five counts of sexual assault
- Intimidation
The accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
His name has not been released to protect the identity of the victim.
