A search warrant in Carleton Place has resulted in drug trafficking charges against a Lanark Highlands resident.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit began investigating alleged cocaine trafficking earlier this summer.
On August 28, officers executed a warrant at a Townline Road East home, seizing nearly seven grams of suspected crack cocaine, several methamphetamine pills, and items linked to drug trafficking.
56-year-old Laura Thompson is charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. She was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Perth court on September 29.
