Police have charged a 41-year-old man following a disturbance at the Rideau Canal Lock earlier this month.
Smiths Falls Police Service says officers responded to a 9-1-1 call on Aug. 8 after reports of a disturbance.
They say the suspect was uncooperative and began climbing the Bascule train bridge and Smiths Falls Fire was dispatched as a precaution.
Police say the man eventually climbed back down after brief negotiations and was taken into custody without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, Justin Bryan of Smiths Falls has been charged with obstructing a peace officer, causing a disturbance, and engaging in prohibited activity.
Bryan was released from custody with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
