
A Smiths Falls resident is facing multiple charges after an impaired driving crash in Perth, according to Lanark County OPP.
Police say just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, officers were called after a vehicle struck a hydro pole in Perth.
The vehicle fled the scene, entered a construction zone and became stuck before the driver was located.
The accused, identified as 27-year-old Taylor Milotte of Smiths Falls, was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment in Perth for testing.
As a result of the investigation, Milotte has been charged with:

Operation while impaired — alcohol

Operation while impaired — blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Novice driver — blood alcohol concentration above zero

Class G1 driver — drive without accompanying driver

Class G1 driver — drive at unlawful hour

Drive motor vehicle with liquor readily available

Unlawfully drive in a construction zone
Milotte was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 29, 2025.
