Community Home Support Lanark County (CHSLC) has confirmed its grief and bereavement program is now a permanent service, following strong community demand and approval from the Ontario Ministry of Health.
The program, first launched as a pilot through one-time funding, was developed to provide safe and compassionate spaces for residents coping with loss.
Feedback from participants and community partners confirmed the need for ongoing local support, particularly in rural areas where options can be limited.
Sessions will take place at multiple accessible locations across Lanark County, with virtual options available for those unable to attend in person. Daytime and early evening times will be offered, and schedules will be shared through CHSLC’s website, social media channels and community partners.
The next session begins this month. Residents can register by calling 613-267-6400 or emailing gb@chslc.ca
The program is free, inclusive and designed to ensure no one grieves alone.
