Smiths Falls police arrest man in breach investigation tied to animal cruelty case
Smiths Falls Police say a man is facing new charges after an investigation into a possible court breach.
On August 14, 2025, officers were alerted to concerns that court conditions were not being followed in connection with earlier animal cruelty charges. Police attended the scene and arrested the suspect without incident.
As a result, 31-year-old Neil Trousdale has been charged with one count of failing to comply with an undertaking and one count of breaching an order that prohibited him from keeping animals.
Police say Trousdale was held in custody and brought before a bail court hearing. The Smiths Falls Police Service continues to remind residents of the importance of reporting suspected breaches of court conditions.
