
Smiths Falls Police say a man has been charged following an attempted robbery earlier this month.
On August 12, 2025, officers received a report that a suspect brandished a knife at a taxi driver around 2:26 a.m.
Police responded immediately and later identified the suspect using security footage. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On August 22, 2025, officers on proactive patrol located the wanted suspect and arrested him without incident.
As a result, 36-year-old Robert Wilkinson faces charges of armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and disguise with intent.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
