The Ontario government is moving forward with the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 42 in the Township of Rideau Lakes.
The province says the project is designed to improve road safety while also creating construction jobs. The work will include reconstructing pavement, modifying intersection entrances, enhancing drainage systems, and installing new lighting and landscaping.
The intersection has long been a priority for local officials, who identified it as a key corridor for families, businesses, and the safe movement of goods. The province awarded the contract as part of its broader highway infrastructure strategy.
Ontario has committed nearly $30 billion over the next decade to build, repair, and expand highways, roads, and bridges across the province. For the past 25 years, Ontario’s road network has ranked among the safest in North America, with one of the lowest fatality rates per 10,000 licensed drivers.
