The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital (PSFDH) marked the 30th anniversary of its amalgamation with a special celebration, bringing together staff, volunteers, and community leaders.
On March 31, 1995, the Great War Memorial Hospital of Perth District and the Smiths Falls Community Hospital officially merged, forming PSFDH.
The amalgamation created a stronger, more integrated healthcare organization serving more than 75,000 residents across the region.
This the anniversary event featured reflections on the hospital’s three decades of growth and collaboration.
Guests included local MPP John Jordan, who shared a personal connection to the milestone, as his father, Leo Jordan, was the area’s MPP at the time of the merger.
PSFDH President and CEO Michael Cohen said the anniversary highlights “the strength of collaboration and the dedication of our healthcare team,” while Jordan called it a privilege to honour the work of those who have served the community with compassion for 30 years.
