A Smiths Falls man is facing several weapon-related charges after police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls about a disturbance on Union Street.
On August 31, 2025, Smiths Falls Police were called to the area after reports of an individual running into traffic. Officers quickly located the man, but during questioning discovered he was carrying a knife.
When confronted, the suspect fled from police on foot.
He was located a short time later and taken into custody without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Cody Lascelle of Smiths Falls has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting a peace officer, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
He was held in custody pending a bail court hearing.
