The Downtown Smiths Falls Business Association is celebrating a successful wrap up to their Downtown Music Festival with one of the biggest concerts the town has seen in years.
Road Apples, Canada’s premier tribute to the Tragically Hip played an outdoor show in front of hundreds of fans who were singing along to the Canadiana content.
The Association’s Megan McIlvenna says they couldn’t be happier with the show or the turnout.
There was music across downtown throughout the day at Davidson’s Courtyard, Russell Street, and the Bandshell in the Town Square. Road Apples played on the main stage at Main St. W, the sight of the old Soper Theatre.
McIlvenna says the night’s reception is motivating them for next year’s Summer of music.
She also wants to make sure that people know that the Downtown Smiths Falls Business Association isn’t slowing down because the warmer months are just about behind us.
Smiths Falls had a lot to celebrate this summer.
In addition to the music festival, Bike Nights brought hundreds of bikers to town on four occasions. Both events are in the works for next year.
The Association also hosted several events during Old Home Week at the beginning of August.
