The Ontario government has awarded Rural FASD a $420,400 Grow Grant through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to support people living with severe disabilities in Lanark and Leeds-Grenville counties.
Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston MPP John Jordan met with the organization to learn more about how the funding will improve job, daily living, and relationship safety skills for vulnerable residents.
The project aims to help participants overcome poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, and other barriers.
Rural FASD partners people with disabilities with local agencies, mentors, and educational programs to address accessibility, employment, and social inclusion.
Founded in 2019, the non-profit equips caregivers and participants with knowledge, peer support, and tools for success.
“Our government is proud to support programs that strengthen communities,” said Jordan.
