This week’s “Silence Broken” podcast on keeping the conversation surrounding Intimate Partner Violence centres around the anniversary of the triple femicide of three women in Renfrew County. On September 22nd, 2015 Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk and Nathalie Warmerdam were murdered by a man who was a former partner to all three and known to be violent.
An inquest followed resulting in 86 recommendations to improve communication and collaboration among IPV case stakeholders to raise awareness and work towards eradication of the epidemic.
On this week’s podcast, we hear from Feminist Lawyer and Women’s Advocate Pamela Cross, who says change happening, but it takes time.
Co-host Erin Lee, of Lanark County Interval House, says all agree, progress needs to be made with one thing in mind.
We’ll have more on the anniversary and the impact of the inquest recommendations next week.
