The Town of Smiths Falls is reminding visitors to the Memorial Community Centre to help keep the popular facility safe for all. Officials say concerns have been raised about children running unsupervised inside the building, which could lead to accidents.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to keep an eye on their children while enjoying the rink, whether during practices, games, or community activities. The town says it wants the centre to remain a welcoming and safe place for families, athletes, and residents.
At the same time, the walking concourse remains open for anyone looking to get exercise, including athletes warming up before taking the ice. Officials note that rollerblades and roller shoes are not permitted inside the facility for safety reasons.
The town says working together as a community will ensure the Memorial Community Centre continues to be a safe and friendly space for everyone.
