49 public-works operators from across the Province showed off their skills recently at the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors Provincial Truck Roadeo in Beckwith.
Drivers piloted identical Lanark County snow-plow trucks through a gruelling obstacle course demanding pinpoint accuracy in a variety of tasks. Darby Lehmann representing the Region of Waterloo described her run at the course.
All operators started off the day with 370 points, with marks deducted for any faults during their runs.
Shawn Cox from the County of Haliburton was humble about his efforts.
Ben Kipp from Mississippi Mills was last year’s champ and earned his place at this year’s Provincials by besting all other Lanark County operators in a match held one day earlier.
This year’s Provincial champ was Josh Cousins of the City of St. Thomas.
