The Perth Curling Club is kicking off its 150th season in a big way.
From October 3 to 5, members will celebrate the milestone with 150 continuous ends of curling, running day and night before wrapping up with a celebratory luncheon on Sunday afternoon.
For perspective, a typical game has only eight ends and lasts about two hours. This marathon challenge will see all 150 members, including youth, take part.
The celebration will also feature a silent auction with items created by members, a pancake breakfast, a raffle, and skills competitions. Local dignitaries are expected to help open the festivities.
With nearly as much history as Canada itself, the Perth Curling Club is showing that tradition and community spirit are alive and well.
