Mississippi Mills will be hosting their 5th annual Truth and Reconciliation event on September 30th, this year led by area youth. Sue Evans of one of the partner organizations, All My Relations gives us a preview.
The evening will feature readings, music, and dance with special guest Shelly Sayeau, known by her spirit name Dancing Willow, who will speak on what connecting to her ancestral roots and culture means. Sue tells us of all the groups involved.
The Vigil begins at 7 pm with a welcome and land acknowledgement at Riverfront Park on Spring Street in Almonte. Sue stresses the importance of attending and showing support.
Some seating will be available but all are welcome to bring their own chairs. Click on the recording link below to hear our entire conversation with Sue.
