Lanark County Council has approved a centralized waitlist for all licensed CWLECC-funded child care centres with service agreements in the county. The new system will streamline access for families and give them a single point to apply to multiple programs.
Director of Social Services Emily Hollington said the change will make it easier for families to find and secure child care. “This ensures all Lanark County families have fair, equitable access through a single window,” she said. The centralized system will also provide the county with real-time data on child care supply and demand, helping staff better understand community needs.
Council approved a partnership with OneHSN, a provincial provider of child care waitlist services. Families will be able to apply online, update personal information, and receive automatic notifications about their status.
