Seniors in Lanark County are being invited to a day filled with health tips, community spirit, and plenty of fun.
The PEP Seniors Therapeutic Centre is hosting its 3rd Annual Seniors Active Living Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244 on Beckwith Street in Perth.
PEP Program Coordinator Maureen Crook tells us what it’s all about.
Those resources include efforts to reduce social isolation, support for seniors’ mental health, and promoting an active lifestyle, among others.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year’s keynote speaker is Dr. John Puxty, who will take the main stage at 12:30 p.m. Crook says he will offer practical advice for seniors and caregivers.
That includes strategies to promote healthy aging for all.
The fair will also feature local exhibitors, health and wellness resources, door prizes, and interactive displays. Crook says its not just for seniors, but also caregivers and family.
Organizers say the event is a chance to learn, connect, and celebrate active aging in the community.
