As efforts to “Save our College” continue, we’ve learned the Algonquin College Perth Campus is officially up for sale. It comes as the college prepares to wind down operations in town.
The 12.34-acre property on Craig Street, listed by CBRE, includes four buildings with more than 43,000 square feet of space. Approximately seven acres of the site are considered developable.
The listing notes the seller will continue using the property until Aug. 31, 2026, but is open to earlier offers with a lease-back option.
Algonquin College’s board voted in February to close the campus, citing a multi-million-dollar budget deficit. The Perth Campus first opened in 1970 with capacity for 350 students, though just 132 full-time students were enrolled last spring.
Community efforts to save the campus have been strong. Former Shopify COO Toby Shannan has proposed transforming it into a non-profit centre for heritage construction and skilled trades, backed by the town, county, and MPP John Jordan.
