Dogs and their owners are about to get a new reason to wag their tails.
The Town of Perth has announced the official grand opening of the Perth Dog Park at Darou Farm, 2845 Rideau Ferry Road. The celebration takes place Saturday, Oct. 4, from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring live music, vendors, and local organizations.
The Friends of Perth Dog Park raised more than $30,000 for the project, matched by another $30,000 from the Town, making the park a true community–municipal partnership.
Mayor Judy Brown praised residents’ support, saying the project represents both a new recreation space and the strength of the community.
The park is part of a bigger plan for Darou Farm, which is envisioned as a natural area for passive recreation. Work will continue in the new year with more features to benefit dogs and their owners.
