Seasonal planters are returning to downtown Perth, but this year they may appear a little earlier than usual.
The Town of Perth and the Downtown Heritage Perth BIA, with help from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 244, are preparing to install winter greenery throughout the downtown core.
Traditionally, the work begins after Remembrance Day to honour veterans. However, with unpredictable November weather, officials say planting may need to happen earlier this year.
The Legion has been consulted and has offered full support for the change, ensuring that respect and remembrance remain at the forefront.
For now, the planters will feature only winter greenery and seasonal foliage, without holiday decorations. Holiday-themed décor will be added after Nov. 11.
Town officials say the plantings not only brighten downtown during the colder months but also help maintain a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.
