Former foreign affairs minister Lloyd Axworthy to visit Perth for CFUW fireside chat
CFUW Perth & District is welcoming a Canadian political legend for a special evening of conversation and reflection.
The Honourable Lloyd Axworthy, known for his decades of public service and leadership in global human rights, will join humanitarian and diplomat Rosemary McCarney for a fireside chat on Monday, October 20, at the Perth Legion.
Axworthy says he’ll be talking about his book, and the content within.
Axworthy looks south of the border to frame his views, saying that with changing times comes new challenges.
The event promises an inspiring evening exploring Canada’s global leadership, citizen activism, and the challenges shaping the next generation of public service.
Axworthy says we have an entrenched system that is dependent on the United States.
The former cabinet Minister is looking forward to a lively discussion and seeing the town itself while he’s in the area.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the discussion beginning at 6:45. The event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
Axworthy will also sign copies of his 2024 autobiography, Lloyd Axworthy: My Life in Politics.
