The Lanark County Food Bank in Carleton Place has announced it is beginning the process of becoming accredited under Food Banks Canada’s national Standards of Excellence program.
The accreditation is designed to strengthen food banks across Canada by improving accountability, transparency, and service quality.
It covers six key areas, including governance, financial management, food safety, and client care.
With support from its Board and consultant Jocelyne Paul of The Osborne Group, the food bank says it’s committed to meeting these standards and earning national recognition by March 2026.
Executive Director staff say the effort reflects their ongoing dedication to serving the community responsibly and sustainably.
Accreditation will also help attract new volunteers, donors, and community partners — ensuring the food bank can continue to serve local families with care and dignity for years to come.
The Lanark County Food Bank is proud to take this step toward excellence.
