In local hockey action:
Local CCHL action heats up this weekend, starting Friday when the Smiths Falls Bears host the Navan Grads at 7:30 p.m. The Carleton Place Canadians are also on the road in Kemptville for a 7:30 puck drop.
On Saturday, the Bears travel to Ottawa to take on the Jr. Senators at 7:30, and Sunday sees Carleton Place in Nepean for a 2:30 start.
In EOJHL play, the Smiths Falls Bears host the Athens Aeros Thursday at 7:30, while Perth hits the road to face Casselman, also at 7:30.
Perth is back in action Friday in Embrun against the Panthers at 8 p.m., while Carleton Place visits Winchester. The Canadians then return home Saturday to host Glengarry at 7:30.
Rounding out the weekend, Smiths Falls heads to Richmond for a 1:20 matchup Sunday afternoon.
