The Town of Smiths Falls has officially opened its newest public amenity — the Cataraqui Trailhead on Lombard Street.
Located between Leisure Days RV Centre and Smiths Falls Kia, the site offers parking for 20 vehicles and direct access to the popular Cataraqui Trail.
Developed by the Community Services Department with help from Public Works, the trailhead aims to make the area safer and easier to access for walkers, cyclists, and visitors.
“This new trailhead is about connection — connecting people to nature, to each other, and to the broader regional trail network,” said Stephanie Clark, Director of Community Services.
The Cataraqui Trail stretches 104 kilometres from Smiths Falls to Strathcona and is managed by Cataraqui Conservation.
The official opening ceremony will take place Friday, October 24 at 11 a.m., celebrating a major step toward more active, outdoor living in Smiths Falls.
