The Ontario government is investing $1.1 billion over three years to expand home care and the Hospital to Home program. The move will help thousands of patients recover safely at home instead of in hospitals, easing pressure on the health system.
The plan includes $982 million for more nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers to support patients with complex needs, and $170 million to expand Hospital to Home sites across the province.
Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said the investment builds a “more self-reliant and resilient province,” while Health Minister Sylvia Jones said it ensures people “get the right care in the right place.”
Seniors Minister Raymond Cho said the funding will help older Ontarians stay healthy, connected, and independent. The province has already reduced home care wait lists by 94 per cent since 2022 and will continue expanding access through the 2025 Economic Outlook and Fiscal Review.
