At the Firefighter World Championship held last week in Dallas, Texas, Perth Fire Chief Trevor Choffe and Firefighter Jeff Dean went head to head against over 350 competitors from 22 countries and did Perth extremely proud.
Jeff finished 9th in the Top 10 in the World category of what’s been described as the toughest two minutes in sports.
Choffe described Jeff’s amazing journey since joining the competitions only a short time ago.
The World Firefighter Championship Challenge is an intense, timed competition where firefighters from around the globe race through a series of physically demanding, real-life firefighting tasks that test strength, endurance, and teamwork.
Trevor captured third place in the fire chief category and was humbled by the event.
He noted that Jeff’s fitness routine and his determination helps fulfill the mission of the Perth Fire Service.
Trevor and Jeff both proved without a doubt that coming from a small town they can compete on the national and world stages if they put in the work and show up.
