Ontario Provincial Police have located human remains at a property northeast of Smiths Falls, connected to the investigation into the death of Robbie Thomson.
On Thursday, October 30, officers executing a search warrant on Kelly Jordan Road discovered human remains. A postmortem will confirm the identity and cause of death.
Thomson was reported missing in October 2023.
Police had previously determined he was the victim of a homicide, though his body had not been found.
Three people were charged with first-degree murder in Thomson’s death on October 29. The accused remain in custody following a bail hearing and will appear in court in Perth on November 5.
The Lanark County OPP and Smiths Falls Police continue to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
Police say there is no threat to public safety, though residents will notice an increased presence in the area.
