Lanark County says the 2025 phase of rehabilitation work on Pakenham’s historic Five Span Bridge is now complete.
The latest construction focused on substructure repairs, including repointing deteriorated masonry and replacing concrete pier jackets.
Work will continue in 2026, with planned upgrades including new parapet wall stone, curbs, gutters and expansion joints, as well as repaving the bridge deck and approaches. Drainage and sight lines will also be improved.
The county says decorative lighting, including colour-changing LEDs under the bridge, will be added as part of the final phase.
Public information sessions and further project details will be announced as the next stage approaches.
