Robbie Thomson had been missing since 2023.
Human remains found on a property in Montague Township have been identified as those of a missing Smiths Falls man.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers discovered the remains while executing a search warrant on Kelly Jordan Road on October 30th.
A postmortem confirmed they are those of Robbie Thomson, who was reported missing in October 2023.
A day earlier, on October 29th, police arrested and charged three people with first-degree murder in connection with Thomson’s disappearance and death.
The accused remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 5th.
The investigation continues under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch, alongside the Smiths Falls Police Service, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Residents in the area will continue to see a heavy police presence as the investigation continues. Police say there is no risk to public safety.
